Graduate of Ecole Superieure d'Ingenieur de Marseille, specializing in Thermo-Dynamics and of the Institut Francais du Froid Industriel and du Genie Climatique, specialising in refrigeration. While studying he taught Fluid dynamics ( terminale F9 ), and did data-processing and operational audits for Petrofina.

After graduation, his career began in an aerospace company of 400 employees in the HVACR department. His strong technical background soon led him to head refrigeration projects within the company. He oversaw all phases of technical interface, from the inception/design of the project, the manufacturing, quality control and assurance and interface with other managers of the project as well as with international suppliers (France, the USA, Japan, Sweden). Mr. Certiat also participated in refrigeration installations within the company while at the same time developing a screw compressor, a spiral compressor, and software simulating the refrigeration cycle. He also studied new technologies such as (high temperatures, cycle cascade, fuel condensers) and researched substitutes for freon, following the new environmental protection regulations regarding the ozone layer. Three years later Philippe Certiat chose to continue his career in mass distribution all the while helping to build a company that specialises in refrigeration. This expertise leads him to form his own company, Enthalpie, in 1998.

Philippe Certiat's spirit of teamwork, management and interface skills, coupled with his technical background has put Enthalpie on the world map of refrigeration, a company whose image is synonymous with quality. It's sales figures are growing and the company is in full expansion.
